Out of My League is an ongoing project that occurs during worshops. It's a basic social acupuncture exercise, which tends to throw the participants into a tizzy. It's simple: participants walk around the surrounding environment, approach strangers who the participants feel are "out of their league" - whatever that might mean - and see how the stranger reacts: if they agree, disagree or think the whole thing is stupid.

Out of My League confounds propriety along two planes: the embargo against talking to strangers in public and the prohibition against assuming low status. It has occurred at Waterloo University, Brock University, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, the Banff Centre and, in a slightly altered form (for obvious reasons) called Too Cool For Me at A.N. Myer Secondary School in Niagara Falls and Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Canada.
