| Public Acts, Act 21, Childhood: The Floating Curator was a part of curator Christine Shaw's Public Acts project, which saw Christine spending the summer traveling across the country and curating 29 artistic works. For the project, Darren O'Donnell designed a contract between himself, the artist, and Christine, the curator. To fulfill her end of the deal, Christine had to spend 1.5 hours per day for five days floating in the Alexandra Park outdoor pool in the shallow end, attempting to strike up friendships with the kids in the pool.
From August 3 - August 8 you could find Christine (and often Darren) floating in the pool and chilling with the children.
In this time of intense and understandable fear for the safety of children, The Floating Curator proves that it's okay to talk to some strangers.
