Alana Wilcox's Naptime featured Coach House Books Senior Editor Alana Wilcox reading naptime stories to a gathering of reclined adults at Trinity Bellwoods Park on August 6, 2006. It was summer time, but the compulsive desire to initiate projects, make stuff happen and bring people together persisted even through our need to lie down for a languid snooze. Alana Wilcox's Naptime facilitated these deeply contradictory impulses. Juice boxes and arrowroot cookies were provided.

Alana Wilcox is the Senior Editor at Coach House Books, a publisher of literary fiction, poetry and drama, and she is the current chair of the Literary Press Group. Through Coach House, Alana co-edited, with Jason McBride, the anthology uTOpia: Towards a New Toronto and (with Jonny Dovercourt and Christina Palassio) the forthcoming The State of the Arts: Culture in Toronto. She is also the author of the novel A Grammar of Endings.
